Anthony Marinelli, 87 of Ormond Beach, Florida passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 15, 2018. Born on August 15, 1930 in Baci, Italy, he immigrated to America as a young boy, landing at Ellis Island. Anthony and his family settled in Pennsylvania. He attended college in Chicago, earning his degree in aeronautical engineering. He worked at Lockheed Martin in Atlanta, Georgia before moving to Orlando, Florida to work at Martin-Marietta. During his career, Anthony was on the team that designed the Patriot Missile. He also designed safety features for airplanes and was involved in the design of the Navy's Blue Angles aircraft. Anthony's interests included history, politics, economics, and spending hour's woodworking in his workshop. He often said that playing the stock market was his favorite hobby. He enjoyed traveling both in the United States and Europe, returning to Italy several Times. His last trip was in December 2017 when he went on a cruise to the Virgin Islands. Anthony was preceded in death by his dear mother, Isabella and his sister, Lena. He is survived by his loving wife, Anzhelika, his step-son, Anton, and his step-granddaughter, Gabby.  Anthony will be remembered as a loyal friend and family man. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, March 21st at 11:00 am at Lohman Funeral Home, 733 West Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
