Anthony (Tony) Robert Garofalo , 84, of Palm Coast, Florida died peacefully with his wife by his side on March 27, 2023. Born in Boston on January 4 th , 1939 to Dominic and Conchetta, Tony spent his formative years in Boston's North End. Upon graduating from high school and serving in the U.S. Navy , Tony went on to enjoy a 30+ year career as a commercial airline pilot, including serving as a Check Pilot for USAirways.

Upon retiring to Palm Coast, Florida, Tony and Patte were active members of the Palm Coast Yacht Club where they enjoyed boating and social events . Tony volunteered his time at Advent F lagler Hospital in the Emergency Department . He was also a valued Flagler County Sheriff's Office volunteer, logging hundreds of hours as the Director of the Citizen's Observer Patrol and helped build the program to what it is today. He made countless friends and will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality and his love for his wife and beloved dog, "Captain." In his later years, Tony also enjoyed meeting his friends at the local Elks Club where they shared countless lunches and laughs.

Predeceased by his parents, Dom and Connie Garofalo, Tony is survived by his wife Patte, sister Elizabeth Glasauer and her husband Dr. Franz Glasauer of Buffalo, NY , brother William of Greenacres, FL, daughters Lauren Riccio of Amherst, NH , and Lainie Potter (Christopher) of Robbinsville, NJ , Chelle Zimmerman, Kelle Bridge (Larry), Julie McMullen (M ichael ), all of Pittsburgh, PA , and thirteen extraordinary grandchildren.

A memorial luncheon will be held to celebrate Tony's life at The Palm Coast Elks Club on Tuesday, April 11 th at 12:00pm.
