IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anthony
Delmonte
September 30, 1946 – March 17, 2025
Anthony (Tony) Delmonte, 78, of Port Orange, FL passed away on Monday, March 17th, 2025, after a battle with cancer. Tony was born on September 30, 1946, in Buffalo, NY. He was a devoted husband to Trudy and a loving father to Keith, Tony Jr., and Patti.
Tony was known to all as a hardworking and generous man and was rarely seen sitting down or relaxing. Always advocating for lifelong learning, he practiced what he preached. While rooted in a successful career, he earned a Master's Degree in Aeronautical Science and a Doctorate in Business Administration later in life. He worked at the Kennedy Space Center where he served as Director of Launch Operations for the Space Shuttle.
In "retirement", he taught classes at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, even traveling to Singapore to teach for their global campus. Additionally, he co-authored the life lessons book, Sheep & Shuttles and was an extremely valued advisor to Global Solution Partners.
Tony's passions were cooking, traveling, golf, and volunteering. His family and friends remember him for trying new recipes, sampling local fare from all the places he visited, and cracking open a bottle of wine with dinner while cheering on the Buffalo Bills. Rarely could you walk into his house and not smell the wonderful aromas of enchiladas, Indian chicken, or his famous pasta sauce and meatballs. He will always be pictured as Chef Tony in the kitchen and his recipes will live on through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Though he was a busy man, Tony was always available to help anyone in need. He volunteered for The American Cancer Society, driving cancer
patients on over 700 rides, and would often tell stories of the rides and conversations he had with them. This was important to him, as he had
survived cancer once and wanted to pay it forward. He could also be found nearly every weekend helping at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, running the audio-visual for the services. His faith was strong and will serve as a comfort to all of his family and friends.
Tony is survived by his wife, Trudy, his sisters Betty and MaryAnn (husband Paul), his children Keith (wife Barbie), Tony Jr. (wife Sheila), and Patti, his four grandchildren Alex (wife Klementa), Katarina (husband Lucas), Abbigail (fiance Ryan), and Dominick, and his three great-grandchildren, Theodore, Luca, and Norah.
A public viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 26, from 1 to 4 PM at Lohman Funeral Home in Port Orange and a funeral will be held during the 8:30 AM mass at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church on Thursday, March 27. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in his name to The American Cancer Society Gofundme .
