Obituary

On Sunday, April 12, 2026, Anthony M. Dapolito (AKA) Tony/Dappa, passed away at the age of 85. He was born in Revere, Massachusetts and lived his adult life in Saugus, Massachusetts where he met and married his wife Deborah. They retired to Port Orange, Florida where they lived a beautiful life in the home they built, and many memories were made with family and friends along the way.

He was known as the Dog-Father to Trixie and Sissy whom he loved and adored. They loved the water, running on the dock, going to the dog park and riding on the golf-cart. He was also known as a “Jack of All Trades”.

He especially loved sitting in his lanai enjoying the beautiful view of the intercoastal waterway while listening to his music and enjoying a cup of coffee with his wife. His son would often drop by to spend time with him. He loved having a glass of Moscato with his daughters when they came for a visit while either sitting in the lanai or on the boat dock he built. He enjoyed his rides along the intercoastal in his pontoon boat with family and friends and of course “the girls” aka the dogs Trixie and Sissy.

Moving to Florida allowed Anthony and his wife to travel to Destin to spend time with Frederick and his family watching the grandchildren’s sporting events and spending holidays together. When traveling became difficult Frederick and his family were able to travel to Port Orange to visit with them.

Things that made Anthony happy were racing boats on Lake Winnipasaukee, riding his motorcycle during bike weeks either in Florida or New Hampshire, and skimobiling on the trails in Alton Bay, New Hampshire.

He especially enjoyed going camping when his children were young in their Winnebago traveling all over. He laughed when Donna used to sleep through the entire trip and his wife Carol and Michelle would be the ones to keep him awake while everyone else was also sleeping. Michael and Paul would make forts on the bunk beds just to occupy the time away. Camping was so much fun because we all got to have our dad spend some quality time with us and enjoying the fresh air and campfires and good grilling.

Most special moment for his daughter Michelle was when he walked her down the isle at her wedding and their special dance together.

He enjoyed having quality time with his two granddaughters and grandson when they were young, they made some wonderful memories.

His son’s had a blast riding with him on their Harleys, going to bike week with him and racing his Cigarette boat “Risky Business”.

All in all, he had many laughs with his wife, family and friends. Lots of cook outs would take place at their home celebrating life’s good fortune and his wife’s good cooking. No matter where he went, he always struck up a conversation with anyone who passed him by even down to his last day.

He is survived by his wife Deborah, her son Frederick McCarthy, daughter-in-law Kristina and their 3 children. He is also survived by his daughter Michelle Mullarkey and her husband Stephen, his daughter Donna Dapolito and son Michael Dapolito. Anthony was blessed to have two granddaughters, and one grandson. He was also blessed to have 5 great grandchildren. Anthony was preceded in death by his former wife Carol Dapolito and son Paul Dapolito.

The care of Anthony M. Dapolito is under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange, 1201 Dunlawton Avenue, Port Orange, FL 32127. A Memorial Service will be held with Family and Friends on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 1:00 P.M.
