Obituary

Anthony Tony' J. Casamento 86 of Crane Lakes Port Orange Florida died at 11:57 p.m. Monday December 31 2012 at Halifax Health - Hospice of Volusia Flagler. He is survived by his wife Marilyn L. Casamento whom he married December 31 1981. Anthony was born November 12 1926 in Jersey City New Jersey a son of the late Salvatore and Anna Jarvis Casamento. At the age of 3 the family moved from Hoboken New Jersey to Jamestown New York where Anthony attended Jamestown High School. A member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church Port Orange he was honorably discharged from serving his country in the US Army in 1945. After retiring from the restaurant and food industry as the former owner/operator of the Savoy Restaurant in Warren Pennsylvania he and Marilyn moved to Florida in 1979. Anthony loved his family friends playing golf and boating but Tony will especially be remembered for his cooking and entertaining. He also enjoyed gardening oil painting and traveling to Europe. He was a long-time active member of the Elks Club the Eagles Club and the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club. Surviving are five children and two stepchildren: Dr. Daniel Casamento of Ellicottville New York; Gregory (Brenda) Casamento of Ormond Beach Florida; Mark Casamento of Chicago Illinois; Linda Casamento of Jamestown New York; Robert (Judy) Lawson of Jamestown New York; Janet (Robert) Fredrick of Bemus Point New York; and Kathy (Mark) Walsh of Alfred Maine. Five grandchildren and four step-grandchildren: Stephanie (Tom) Christianson of Erie Pennsylvania; Charlie Casamento of Chicago Illinois; Mark (Cristy) Casamento Jr. of Chicago Illinois Matthew Casamento of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania; Christopher (Cristy) Casamento of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania; Robin Lawson of Jamestown New York; Todd Lawson of Jamestown New York; Robert Lawson Jr. of Sugargrove Pennsylvania; Kimberly Swanson of Jamestown New York; Jason (Edward) Fredrick of Jamestown New York; Matthew Staples of Jamestown New York; Adam Walsh of Cassadaga New York; and Ashley Walsh of Sinclairville New York. Six great-granchildren. Three brothers: Joseph Castle of Jamestown New York; Bernard (Linda) Casamento of Port Orange Florida; Nathan Casement of Dayton Ohio. Samuel (Ruscella) Casamento of Asheville North Carolina. Several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a stepson Steven Walsh; three sisters Mariann Josephine and Marie; a brother Nick; and former wife Marie Casamento. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday January 9 2012 in Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church Port Orange Florida. The Rev. Christopher A. Hoffman will be celebrant. Burial will be in Stillwater Cemetery Kiantone New York.
