On August 4 ^th 1933, Annie Mae Heslop was born to Retinella Victoria and George Parker Heslop in the beautiful mountainous parish of Watermount, St. Catherine, Jamaica. She was the fourth child of eight born to this union. During her early years, she attended all the local schools and enjoyed many adventures with her family, especially evenings on the veranda where her father led their makeshift musical ensemble. She and her siblings played instruments, which ranged from tin cans, pots, and spoons to bamboo joints and sticks. As a young adult, she migrated to Stroud, Gloucestershire, England in 1956 and experienced the very cold and turbulent weather for the first time. In 1960 she became a homeowner of a 3-bedroom home in Filton, Bristol, England where she worked as an auxiliary nurse in Southmead Hospital for 23 years.

Annie, known for her free spirit and her wanderlust, immigrated to the USA on board the Queen Mary in 1985 and lived and explored many states throughout the country. She finally decided to settle in Palm Bay, Florida, where she purchased a three-bedroom home to be near her sister, Gloria. This home would be the nesting place for her three surviving children who she sponsored to immigrate to the United States: Fabian (Koy), Audrey, Kim and their families. This social butterfly could never settle in one place for too long. In 2008 she surprised her family and sold her home to relocate to Lanai, Hawaii. She reveled in paradise for two years and returned to sunny Florida in the city of Ormond Beach. During the last year of her life, she was finally persuaded to move back to Palm Bay to be closer to family. In addition to traveling the globe, her hobbies included: dancing, cruising with family, and growing red roses (her favorite color) in her re-created English garden. She was preceded in death by her sons, Trevor and Kevin, her siblings, Gloria, Roy, Neville, and Noel, and her grandson, Floyd. Annie leaves behind her brother Derrick, sisters Phyllis and Avis, daughters Audrey and Kim and her son Fabian, 10 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. In addition to a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
