Obituary

Anne Nagi Maze, 86, passed peacefully on April 29, 2023 with family members at her side while under hospice care in Port Orange, Florida. She was born on November 13, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Joseph John and Ann Marie (Wozniak) Nagi.

Anne graduated from St. Hedwig H. S. in Detroit, class of 1954, and attended Henry Ford Community College and Wayne State University in Dearborn and Detroit Michigan. She worked several years for Ford motor company. This was followed by an illustrious 30 year career with the Center of Disease Control, first in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where she met and married her husband Scott Marshall (deceased 1983) and learned the Spanish language, and lastly in Atlanta, Georgia retiring in 1996 from her position as administrative officer for the CDC Division of Environmental Health Laboratory. After moving from Tucker, Georgia to Daytona Beach Shores,Florida in 2002 with her husband Jay Maze,  Anne became an avid and active supporter of the local Daytona Beach music, art and historical venues. She served several years on the Board of Directors of the Symphony Guild of Daytona Beach Symphony Society. Her many passions included: Nagi family historian and "Nagi Gazette" family newsletter writer /editor, going to many symphony and theater performances, traveling, reading, journaling, sea turtle conservation, active involvement with her condo community "family", being a faithful community and choir member of Unity of Daytona Beach but most of all spending cherished time "loving on" her family and friends.

Many will remember Anne for her sincere, "Joyful and Grateful" attitude, kindness, generosity and adventurous spirit. Anne was preceded in death by her husband Jay; her brother Joe; and her son Earl Marshall-Luigi Jr. She  is survived by her son, Clint Heard; daughter Carolyn Mather and daughter Erleen Marshall-Noguera; her sisters Rosemarie, Mary Ann, Penny, Pat, Connie, and Camille; her brother Leonard; many grandchildren,  great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on July 15th, 2023 at Unity of Daytona Beach at 11:00 AM, with light lunch reception to follow.
