IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anne Dunn
Martin
March 19, 1938 – March 16, 2026
Anne Dunn Martin, age 87, passed away peacefully at home, Monday, March 16, 2026 surrounded by the love and support of her family. Anne was born in Greenville, Kentucky and moved to Daytona Beach with her husband, George R. Martin, Jr., who preceded her in death in 2023.
Anne graduated from Greenville High School in Greenville, Kentucky and attended Murray State University, also in Kentucky, before moving to Florida. Once in the Daytona and Ormond Beach area, she and George purchased the Del Aire Motel in 1959 and owned and operated it for over 40 years. During that time period, the motel earned many small business awards that recognized their high level of customer care and well-kept, beautiful appearance. The motel slogan was “Families and Couples, Our Specialty” which was geared toward a family atmosphere that brought return customers year after year. They became good friends with many of their guests!
Anne was an active member in her church, St. James Episcopal Church. She enjoyed volunteering, serving on committees and being involved wherever she could contribute. Anne was also a member of the Palmetto Club Juniors of Daytona Beach, the Junior League of Daytona Beach, the Sustainers group of the Junior League, and even did a little acting at the Daytona Playhouse. She was also on the Board of Directors for EasterSeals of Northeast Central Florida. Socially she enjoyed being a member at Oceanside Country Club where she played both tennis and golf. Friday evening “happy hour” was always a favorite for her, where she could spend time with her friends.
Family was the most important thing in Anne’s life. She enjoyed traveling with George, spending time on the boat and at the beach, taking long walks and spending lots of time with her kids and grandkids. She loved living vicariously through her son’s crazy travels, watching her grandkids grow and flourish, and spending quality time with her daughter. Anne is survived by her son Tommy Martin, Atlantic Beach, FL, daughter Jan Martin Brock (Jeff), Ormond Beach, and granddaughters Lindsay Brock Frazier (Blake), Tampa, Mandy Dunn Brock, Ormond Beach, and Casey Martin Brock, Ormond Beach.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Oceanside Country Club for family and friends on Thursday, April 2, 2026 from 4 – 6 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to The ARC of Volusia/Daytona Beach at 100 Jimmy Huger Circle, Daytona Beach, FL 32117, or Whispering Meadows Ranch (horseback riding therapy for those with disabilities, and veterans), 3310 W SR 40, Ormond Beach, FL 32174, or the Alzheimers Association for Alzheimers research.
