A Memorial Service will be held for Ann C. Smith age 77 of Terrace Ave Daytona Beach on Tuesday July 25 2006 in the Chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Daytona. The family will receive friends at 6:00 pm and the service will start at 6:30 pm with the Rev. Harry Correll of Jacksonville FL officiating. Ann passed away at the Halifax Medical Center on Saturday July 22 2006.
She was born on December 31 1928 in Charlotte NC to James and Mattie Knight Correll. On October 6 1946 she married Ray Smith and was devoted in love to him for 53 years until his passing in February 1999. Ann was a real estate broker and owned Real Estate Opportunities Inc; she was the former President of the Daytona Beach Board of Realtors. She was on the Board of Directors of the Port Orange/South Daytona Chamber of Commerce; she was involved with many volunteer projects though out the communities. Ann was very successful in all of her endeavors. ?Nana? as she was known to her 3 grandchildren Angel Shannon and Alexander cherished the times they spent together. She also loved to garden and had a ?green thumb? as it seemed that everything she planted grew very well. She is survived by 2 daughters; Laura Smith and Lisa Brian George of Stafford VA. 2 brothers; Clifford Correll and Jimmy Wanda Correll of Charlotte NC and a sister; Jane John Allgaier of Ellijay GA. Memorial donations may be made in her honor to St. Judes Children?s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis TN 38015.
