Obituary

Anita Traver devoted wife of Douglas Traver and cherished mother of Patricia (Bob Koenigsnecht) Hight of Birmingham MI and Margaret (Rufus) Whitmire of Mills River NC left us peacefully on November 7 2012 surrounded by her family. Mrs. Traver was born in Lily PA on September 29 1927 she was raised in Cooperstown and Oneonta NY. She was preceded in death by husband William Irons in 1970 her grandson Jeffrey Hight her brothers; Bobby Tucci Larry Tucci Ralph Tucci and sisters; Mary Van Valkenburg Shirley Holland Carm Leo Irene Gannecelli Jean Delaney and Pat Morrell. In addition to her loving husband and daughters she is also survived by her sister Helen Frankl of Oneonta NY and stepchildren: Susan Winzeler Douglas Traver Michael Traver and Jim Traver. She will be missed by her loving grandchildren; Joshua Hight Melissa Whitmire Derek Whitmire Austin Whitmire Jenny Winzeler Libby Zahler Katie Pahl Colin Traver Ross Korkmas Sarah Traver Marissa Traver Melia Traver and McKenna Traver. Mrs. Traver was also adored by her twenty two surviving nieces and nephews and five great-grandchildren. Anita retired from State Farm Insurance and moved from Michigan to Ponce Inlet where she and her husband built their dream home. They were active members of the Oceans Racquet Club. Along with being an avid tennis player she also loved playing bridge with many of her friends. Anita enjoyed walking the beach plays traveling cooking gourmet Italian meals but her biggest joy was spending time with her family and friends. Her smile humor and love will be greatly missed. A funeral mass in her honor will be held on Tuesday November 13 2012 at 11:00 A.M at Church of the Epiphany 201 Lafayette Street Port Orange FL 32127. A visitation in Anita's honor will be on Monday November 12 2012 at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange 1201 Dunlawton Ave Port Orange FL 32127 from 4:00 P.M to 6:00 P.M.
