It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Angela Hawkes Patrick on September 13, 2018.  Born December 17, 1944 in Lockport, New York to Jack and Bernardine "Bunny" Hawkes. She was the beloved wife of Alexander "Sandy" for over 49 years. Cherished mother of Carrie, husband Roberto, and David, wife Melanie. Beloved Gramma of Paul, Mark, Margaret and Angela. Dearest sister of Judith Wiedl, John and Kathy Hawkes and Barbara (Patrick) Parker. Angie's love and laughter will be missed by many other relatives and friends. Angela dedicated her life to children. She raised two beautiful children and couldn't love her grandchildren any more. She was happiest with one or more curled up in her lap while she read them a book. She taught kindergarten and first grade for over 30 years, starting in her hometown of Lockport, then moving to New Jersey after marrying Sandy. She retired from Sharon School in Robbinsville, NJ in 2006, moving again with Sandy to Ormond Beach, Florida to work on their golf and bridge games. Angela had a passion for learning and laughing. She could often be found curled up with a good book or laughing with friends and family. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church, 1000 Ocean Shore Blvd in Ormond Beach on September 21, 2018, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Angela's memory to Sharon School PTA kindergarten class trip fund.
