Obituary

Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Saturday July 2 2005 at Epiphany Catholic Church 201 Lafayette St. Port Orange for Andrew S. Sabo 89 of Daytona Beach who died Sunday June 26. Burial will follow at Daytona Memorial Park. His viewings will be Friday from 6 to 8 pm and Saturday from 9 to 10 am in the chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Daytona. Born in Lakewood Ohio Mr. Sabo moved to this area in 1979 from Ohio. A WW II disabled veteran Mr. Sabo retired from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration after 20 years? service. He received a plaque for his outstanding contribution to the Apollo Mission that allowed man?s first landing on the moon on July 20 1969. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion in Daytona Beach and the Highway Patrol Auxiliary in Kentucky. He is survived by his son John T. Sabo of OH; daughters Nancy Sabo and Janet Nestor of Daytona Beach; Mary Driscoll of KY; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and a brother Michael Sabo of Ohio.
