Funeral Service for Anargyros ?Andy? N. Xepapas age 73 of Daytona Beach who died of heart failure October 5 2005 at his estate and place of birth in Sparta Greece will be held on Friday October 14 2005 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church at 11:00 a.m. with Father George Savas officiating. His family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Othodox Church with a trisagion service to take place at 7:00pm.
Andy was born in Anogia Lakonia Greece and moved to this area in 1970 from Washington D.C. He graduated with a B.A. in Architecture in 1957 from Catholic University Washington D.C. then received his Master of Architecture in 1958 and was an architect for the Department of Defense from 1962-1968. For nearly fifty years of service as an architect Andy has in an automatic and reciprocal manner dedicated himself in return for the privilege to practice as servant of the city. He was architect of the Aliki Condominiums including Daytona Beach?s tallest building the Aliki Tower. By directly involving himself as an architect and developer in the cities of Flagler Beach Ormond Beach and Daytona Beach Florida he has advanced new practices of construction and standards of design now adopted as their code. It?s in this way that as a designer of both the material city and of its way of life throughout his career architectural design as been the instrument through which he has tirelessly spent his life channeling civic economic and political forces of national standing so that they might contribute to his vision of better cities. He was a member and an archon of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. He is survived by his wife of 42 years Aliki Anton Xepapas and his two nephews George Anton and Andy Anton.
