Obituary

Amedeo R. Berton, 84, of Daytona Beach, passed away on January 30, 2017 at Blossom Assisted Living Facility in Daytona Beach. He was born on May 17, 1932 in Long Island, NY to the late Bernard and Carmella Berton. He was the last child of thirteen siblings. He served his country proudly in the United States Marines as a staff sergeant during the Korean War. Amedeo was owner/operator of Berton Tile in New Jersey for over 40 years. He retired to the Daytona Beach area in 1997. He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Port Orange where he served as an usher and also as a cook for many of their functions. He loved golfing. He is survived by his son, Chris (Bonnie) of Daytona Beach; daughter, Lori Bohannon of Daytona Beach; and granddaughter, Christie Michelle Berton of Daytona Beach. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Jane Berton and by his grandson, Michael Christopher Berton. Memorial Donations y be made in his memory to Dementia/Alzheimers Association or to the Halifax Humane Society.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 8:30am on Friday February 17, 2017 at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Port Orange.
