Obituary

Alvin D. Dixon 84 of Palm Coast Florida passed away on April 8 2013 in the loving comfort of his home.

Alvin was born in Kingston Jamaica to Edna Grant and Ernest Dixon on February 24 1929. He attended his primary and secondary education in Kingston and later went to earn his Baccalaureate degree from The City College of New York. He worked as an Accountant for Central National-Gottesman Inc. - a Fortune 100 company and the world's largest privately held pulp paper packaging and tissue company in the world.

In 1997 Alvin retired from his position with Central National-Gottesman and relocated to Palm Coast Florida with his wife Brenda and his son Gregory. During his retirement Alvin served as the Treasurer for United Caribbean Cultural Association. In this capacity he ensured that the advancement of Caribbean cultures would continue throughout their retirement in the Palm Coast community. Alvin also spent his retirement years vacationing throughout Europe Canada the Caribbean and the United States. He thoroughly enjoyed these activities in addition to watching boxing cricket and soccer matches with his son and friends. He was also an attentive grandfather that spent time in the pool beach and playing board games with his grandchildren.

Alvin is survived by his wife Brenda son Gregory granddaughters Paris and Gianni his siblings Marlene Samuels Ernest Dixon Jr. and Winston Dixon; as well as several nieces and nephews cousins and friends. Alvin is preceded in death by his parents Edna Grant and Ernest Dixon.

May Alvin's love by like a cascade of wind chimes; forever dancing in the wind and creating a soft calming and melodious tune in our ear.

Brenda and Gregory wish to extend their deepest gratitude and whole-hearted support to their family friends and the Hospice team of Florida Hospital Flagler who have supported them during Alvin's transition.
