Alva Ramey age 79 passed away Saturday May 29th at The Place of Daytona Beach. He had been a resident here since 1967. He was born in Lundale WV and moved here from Huntington WV.

Mr. Ramey was a veteran of WWII. His trade was air conditioning and heating. For several years he was employed at Days Inn of Ormond Beach. He served in his church for many years as deacon.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years Wanda; a son Mark Steven Ramey and daughter-in-law Lynn of Tampa FL; grandson Christopher Ramey; granddaughters Peyton and Cameron Ramey and Hope Yvonne Thomas; and a nephew Jack Michael Ramey of Athens Ohio. He was predeceased by his daughter Deborah Ann Ramey Thomas.

A memorial graveside service will be held at Daytona Memorial Park on Friday June 4 2004 at 2:00pm with Rev. Ethel Lincoln officiating.
