A Celebration of Life for Ms. Almaellen (Mel) Slavin, 46 years old, who died on May 11, 2017 will be held at 1:00 PM, May 31, 2017 at the Lohman Funeral Home 1201 Dunlawton Ave., Port Orange, Florida with the Reverend Robert Cosmas officiating
Almaellen was born at the USAF Academy, located at Colorado Springs, Colorado on January 26, 1971. She travelled the world as a military dependent and finally settled in central Florida in 1984, living in Orlando, Winter Springs, Palm Coast and Daytona Beach.
Almaellen graduated from Dr. Philips High School in 1990 and went on to become a Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Emergency Medical Technician and a Registered Pharmacy Technician. Tiring of the medical field Almaellen chose to work in retail up until her passing.
Almaellen, loved and was loved by her family and friends and her dog Bear. She is survived by her parents, Robert and Rebecca Slavin of Port Orange, her Sister Rebekah Dossett and Husband Tony, of Winter Springs, her beloved nephews Damon and Blake, her brother Scott Slavin of Boynton Beach, her Aunt Margaret of Kingman, AZ, Her Aunt Margaret and Husband Tom Hinson of Tavares, FL., her Great Uncle and Aunt, John and Joyce Armour of Palm Coast.
