Alma S Rodriguez
September 1, 1951 – July 9, 2024

If one word could describe Alma, it would be joy. An elegant and refined woman, Alma's radiant smile was the first impression she made on those fortunate enough to meet her. That smile gave a mere hint of the immeasurable depth of her kindness, friendliness, and love of life.

Alma's life was built on the bedrock of her strong Catholic faith and unconditional love for her family. She found beauty everywhere in life, especially in the culture of her native Colombia. Her "joie de vivre" illuminated the world around her, particularly through her irrepressible love of music, dancing, and fútbol. And indeed, what joy emanated from her when she danced!

Our family's light has dimmed with the loss of our beloved Alma, and our lives will be less vibrant without her. However, she leaves us with countless happy memories of her warmth and affection. Remembering her will always put a smile on our faces. We will dance in her honor.

Alma was born on September 1, 1951, from the union of Eli Rodriguez and Aura Martinez in Barranquilla, Colombia. She emigrated to the United States with her family in 1992. Alma is survived by her husband of 23 years, Dr. Carlos Segami; her children, Alma Alvarado (Jeremy) and Eduardo Mario Alvarado (Maria); her stepdaughters, Maria Tanner (David) and Sofía Segami (Daniel); nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and four siblings.

Thank you, Alma, for bringing joy to our lives, for showing us what it is to love someone and to be loved by someone. You will always remain in our hearts. We know you are now dancing eternally with the angels in heaven.
