Alice C. Threlkeld, 93, a resident of Port Orange, Florida passed away at home on Friday, May 18. Alice was born to Robert and Maggie Cook on September 26, 1924 here in Daytona Beach.  A lifelong resident of the Daytona Beach area, Alice graduated from Mainland High School, Class of 1942. She was an avid gardener, held a special place in her heart for cats, and was one of those special people who could always find some humor in day to day life. Alice worked her way up to a line manager position for Southern Bell before retiring after a  23 year career. She will be reunited with her husband of 60 years, Don, who sadly passed away in 2012, three brothers and three sisters who also predeceased her. Alice leaves behind her daughter Donna and son-in-law Bernie Ragland of Brookhaven, Ga., sister-in-law Mary Cook of Daytona Beach, and numerous nieces and nephews who will surely miss her. A Graveside Service for Alice will be held on Thursday, May 24 at 12 pm at Daytona Memorial Park. The family asks in lieu of other offerings please make a donation in Alice's name to Vitas Hospice.
