Alice Mae Snipes age 87 of Daytona Beach formerly of Port Orange went to her heavenly rewards on Tuesday December 1 2009. A funeral service in her honor will be held on Friday December 4 2009; 12:00 PM Rev. Jim Smith officiating at the Daytona Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home. A visitation will take place Thursday 12/3/09; 5-7 PM. Following the service interment will take place at Daytona Memorial Park.

Alice was born in Burke North Carolina to James and Loretta VanHorn. She has dedicated her life in the service of others both in her career as a nursing assistance in her home as a wife and mother. She was a proud member of Church of Christ in Port Orange and wonderful homemaker "country girl" who could cook bake sew do crafts and tend to her vegetable and flower garden. She took a vegetable from a seed - to the canning jar - to the table.
Her beloved husband Charles preceded her in death and she leaves behind to cherish her memory 2 children; Charles Snipes his wife Sue and Frances Funston 4 grandchildren; Gary Paquette William Paquette Sanda Lawrence and Carol Paquette and 4 great grandchildren; Kevin Kaycee Kandyce and Karrie.
