Alice L. Race 80 of Palm Coast passed away January 19 2009 at Florida Hospital Flagler. Services are scheduled for Friday January 23rd at Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Palm Coast with visitation from 9-10:45 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am.

Alice was born May 4 1928 to Joseph and Susan Gibbons in Philadelphia PA. She lived there for many years working as a Registered Nurse and came to Florida in 2003 where she enjoyed her family especially her six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years; Robert Race Sr. She is survived by her children Robert (Helen) Race Jr. of Philadelphia and Wayne (Carol Anne) Race Sr. of Palm Coast. Also surviving are: Grandsons Robert III and David Race and Granddaughters Darlene Bunting Mariellen Tracey and Kelly Race. A grandson Wayne Race Jr. preceded Alice in death. Also surviving are a brother Robert Gibbons sister-in-law Dolores Buckles and Great grandchildren: Brandi-Lynn Brianna Natalie Ashley Brett Austin Abigail and Carolyn.

Alice was a member of the Red Hats Society Flagler Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and the Irish American Club.
