Alice C. McCarthy, of Deltona, passed Sunday, July 30, 2013. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 from 4 to 6 pm at Lohman Funeral Home Deltona, 1681 Providence Blvd., Deltona.

Alice was born on September 15, 1918 in Waitsfield, Vermont to Clarence G and Hattie P Gallagher. She moved to this area from Syracuse, NY in 1984. She enjoyed Bridge with her friends, playing cards with family & friends, shopping, reading, word puzzles, and the news. Alice graduated from Mary Fletcher School of Nursing in 1940. She was an RN until she retired 65 years of age. Alice and her beloved husband Myles married in 1941 and had a wonderful life together. They enjoyed a very full life after retirement with golf socializing and a cruise to Panama Canal and to Europe. Alice cherished every moment being with her family.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Myles and a son Richard. She is survived by daughter Joni (Tom) Savoie of York PA; son Kevin (Elizabeth) McCarthy of Marcellus NY; daughter Cathy (Tom) Lavere of Deltona FL; 9 grandchildren 14 great grandchildren.

We cherish every memory of this remarkable woman. Honestly the Best Mom ever. In Lieu of flowers Memorial donations may be made in her honor to Hospice of the Comforter.
