IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alfred Henry
Orowitz
October 1, 1938 – April 8, 2025
Alfred (Al) H. Orowitz Jr., 86, passed away peacefully at his home in Deltona, Florida on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. He was born in Butler, Pennsylvania, on October 1, 1938.
He leaves behind his two daughters, Brenda Collins and her husband Bill Collins of Hudson, New Hampshire, and Joanne Robbins and her husband Michael Robbins of Fort Worth, Texas. He was a beloved grandfather to Olivia Kile and her husband Brian Kile, Patrick Collins, and Nicole LaRoche; and a cherished great-grandfather to Lily LaRoche. Lovingly called "Junior" by his siblings, he also leaves behind a sister, Rose Creed of North Carolina, and a brother, James Orowitz of Pennsylvania, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many great-nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sisters Margaret Brumm, Stella Sanders, and Patricia Quinn. His parents were Isabell and Alfred H. Orowitz, Sr. of Butler, Pennsylvania.
Al proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Keppler. Following his military service, he worked in construction as a mason before becoming a welder at Ingersoll Rand, where he remained until his retirement. He married his first wife, Maureen Orowitz, in 1963 and resided in Hudson, New Hampshire, until 1995. Upon retirement, he moved to Deltona, Florida, with his second wife, Christine Talbert.
An avid traveler, Al fulfilled his dream of visiting Normandy to honor those lost, and embarked on a safari in Africa. He was proud of his family and valued his time with friends. Fondly nicknamed "Old Sea Biscuit" by his grandchildren, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date to celebrate his life.
