Obituary

Orange City - Alfred L. Cote born March 3 1949 in Peoria IL passed away on Thursday March 15 2012 at the young age of 63 years. Al "Peanut" the son of Lionel and Elaine Cote dedicated his life to helping others. He was a firefighter/EMT for the city of Altamonte Springs and a volunteer Fire Fighter for Orange City until his health dictated a different life. Al proudly coached and officiated for the Deltona Little League for many years playing softball himself in a variety of leagues encouraging his children and grandchildren to stay active. A friendly community advocate Al enjoyed attending local car shows snapping as many photos as he could and building models of some of his favorite classics. His father Lionel J. Cote and a brother George Hinshaw Sr. preceded him in death; and leaves behind his best friend Coda (female Siberian Husky); his mother Elaine Cote(Florida); his three children Patricia (Jay) Burgess (California) Jennifer and Anthony Cote (Florida); his three remaining siblings Dixie (Gary) Planck and Joseph Cote (South Carolina) and Dale Cote (Florida); his five grandchildren Richard (Angela) Baskins (South Carolina) Krystle (Dusty MacIsaac) Baskins (California) Larry "Tre"" Hicks III (Florida); Ben and Emily Burgess (California); his three great grandchildren KayLynn Emilee and Rylee MacIsaac (California); and many loving friends and extended family members. The family will not be holding any formal services however ask that you take a moment wherever you are to honor Al and that you give what you can to the American Diabetes Foundation in his name. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home of Deland.
