Alfonso Biscardi
1938 ~ 2021
Alfonso Biscardi, age 83, of Port Orange, FL, passed away unexpectedly on, Friday, November 12th. Known to many as "Al", he never met a stranger, was an eternal optimist who always greeted you with a smile, a kind word and will always be remembered as "just a great guy."
Alfonso was born in Philadelphia, PA, June 7th, 1938, son of the late Alfred and Josephine (Sisto) Biscardi.
He served in the US Air Force from 1958 through 1961.
In the early '70's, Al relocated to Brigantine, NJ before settling in Port Orange, FL, for the remainder of his life. Over the years, he enjoyed hunting, golfing, fishing, watching old movies and sports, especially his Auburn Tigers, Philadelphia Eagles, and NY Yankees, and of course playing his weekly poker games, though quiet times with Frankie his beloved cat, brought him peace.
Al held many positions of employment throughout his life, but found success in sales, including insurance and real estate, as well as recruiting.
He was very active in multiple organizations during his life in Brigantine, notably the Lion's Club and the Knights of Columbus.
Alfonso is survived by his brother Guy (Lorraine), of Philadelphia, PA., his former wife of 46 years, Rita (D'Ambrosio), Port Orange, two daughters, Lisa Scott, Havertown, PA, and Laura Muenster, Atlanta, GA, two granddaughters, Ashley Kurz (Matthew), Wallingford, CT, Paige Kemp (James), Clearwater, FL, one great-granddaughter, Georgia Elizabeth, and his companion for many years, Marie Spetti, Port Orange.
Al was just settling into his new residence, Emory L Bennett Veteran's Nursing this past July, where he quickly met new friends and staff members that cared deeply for him.
Alfonso certainly lived life to its fullest and will be missed by all who had an opportunity to meet him.
Please join Al's family for a Memorial Service on Saturday, December 4th at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange, noting the Visitation and Service schedule below.
