Alexis Torianyk, age 79, of Daytona Beach, FL, formerly of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, passed away peacefully March 23rd, 2016 at Florida Hospital Oceanside, Ormond Beach. Alexis was a retired chef and avid fisherman. He enjoyed horticulture, gardening, and hunting. Alexis was most happy being with his family and spending time on the beach.
Alexis is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Madeleine (Lescaud) Torianyk of Daytona Beach, his son, Eric Torianyk of Tulsa, Oklahoma, daughter-in-law, Alin Avitan of Tulsa Oklahoma his stepson, Philippe Gottrant and his wife Suzanne Ouelette of Boucherville, Quebec, a stepdaughter, Marie-Jose Gervais and her husband Jean-Pierre Gervais of Montreal, Quebec, by two sisters, Helen Sievers and her husband Hans Sievers of Nova Scotia, Olga Petersen and her husband William Pertersen of Abbottsford, British Columbia, by her brother, William Torianyk of Dollard-Des-Ormeaux, Quebec, five grandchildren, Lianne Torianyk, Annabel Torianyk, Gabriel Torianyk, Frederic Gervais , Valerie Gottrant and two great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Alexis was preceded in death by his parents, Yvan and Catherine (Dwornik) Torianyk as well as a grandson, Sandy Gervais.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 26th from 3-5 pm with services celebrated at 4:00 pm at Lohman Funeral Home; 1423 Bellevue Ave. Daytona Beach.
