A memorial service for Mr. Alex Siodmak 89 for Gladys Terrace Daytona Beach Shores was held on Friday November 24 2006.
Mr. Siodmak was born August 11 1917 in Dresden Germany and retired to the Daytona area in 1987 from New York City after a 37 year career as a photographer. He graduated from Columbia University New York NY in 1972. Alex proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Air Force at the rank of Corporal.
Mr. Siodmak was fortunate enough to leave Germany in 1933 and lost many family members to the Holocaust. Upon retiring to Florida Alex became an active speaker on the Holocaust at Daytona Beach Community College and local civic groups.
Alex's Memberships included the Motion Picture Club the Autobahn Club and A.A.R.P. and he enjoyed photojournalism and teaching.
Those who will lovingly remember Alex include his wife of 53 years Rosemarie a son Oliver Siodmak New York NY a brother Manfred Siodmak and one grandchild Jake.
