Alekso Atanasoski, 89, of Ormond Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday December 8, 2018 with his loving family by his side at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Florida. He was born on August 2, 1929 in S. Marul, Macedonia to the late Trajan and Menka Atanasoski.
Alekso served in the Armed forces as a young man in Yugoslavia. He moved from his country to New York City in 1972 and then moved to the Ormond Beach area in 1980.
Alekso retired from his son's company, "Microflex", in Ormond Beach at the age of 78.
He enjoyed gardening and he loved to help people no matter what they needed.
Survivors include his three children, Josif Atanasoski of Ormond Beach, FL, George Atanasoski of Ormond Beach and Violeta Atanasoski-McCormick (Thomas McCormick) of Fort Lauderdale; Eight Grandchildren and five Great-Grandchildren.
A Visitation will be held from 6-8pm with a Trisagion Service being held at 7:00pm on Wednesday December 12, 2018 in the Chapel at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond, 733 W. Granada Blvd., Ormond Beach. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am on Thursday December 13, 2018 at Holy Cross Eastern Orthodox Church, 375 Fleming Avenue, Ormond Beach. Interment will follow in Volusia Memorial Park, 550 N. Nova Road, Ormond Beach.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Spasija, in 2013.
