Obituary

Major Albert G. Mongeau 74 of Ormond Beach passed away at Florida Hospital Oceanside on May 7 2010. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday May 14 2010 at 2:00 p.m at Lohman Funeral Home 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach FL 386-673-1100. Born Nov. 8 1935 in Everett Massachusetts to Alfred and Isbelle (Lablanc) Mongeau. Major Albert was a retired Air Force pilot having served in many missions over Vietnam. To date he retains the record for the heaviest cargo load dropped from a plane. Al received a hockey scholarship to Holy Cross and later on a co-scholarship in football. He and his wife JoAnne relocated to Volusia County in 2009 from Melbourne FL he was Catholic a member of the Patrick Air Force Base Officer's Club and was an avid golfer.
Major Al Mongeau is survived by his wife of 46 years JoAnne Mongeau Ormond Beach son David Mongeau and his wife Rebecca Ormond Beach daughter Karen Etheredge and her husband Mike Farmington New Mexico brothers Paul Mongeau and his wife Joan Boston MA Phillip Mongeau and his wife Nancy AZ Ed Mongeau AZ brother-in-law Steve Kiley Boston MA and his granddaughter Natalie Etheredge. He was preceded in death by his sister Audrey Kiley and his sister-in-law Pat Mongeau Condolences may be shared with the family at www.LohmanFuneralHomes.com.
