Albert Ernest Manton age 81 of Port Orange Florida and Franklinville New Jersey went to home to be with his father God and his son Jesus Christ on Thursday March 10 2011.
Albert was born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania to Albert and Esther Manton. He grew up in Franklinville NJ graduated from Clayton High School in 1948. Albert serviced our country in the US National Guard 50th Armor division and Department of Homeland Security US Coast Guard Auxiliary. His love and dedication for Franklin Township was exemplified in his service to the community as Mayor Treasurer and Administrator. Albert served as President of the New Jersey Association of Elections Officials Chairman of the Gloucester County Republican Party and the Gloucester County Board of Elections. He was an adventurous soul who served as a Janvier fireman enjoyed; current events deer hunting with his sons fishing clamming woodworking gardening landscaping his home and impromptu trips to many places with his wife. He was proud of his contributions to the township his editorials and his memberships at Franklinville United Methodist Church the Salem County Sportsman's Club The Janvier Dear Club the Williamstown Masonic Lodge # 166 and Shriners International. Albert was an outgoing gentleman with a zest for life who never meet a stranger. He had a passion for politics the American Dream and was a loving husband father and grandfather. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his broken hearted wife of 16 years Lynn Pardee-Manton 4 children: Bruce Manton Brenda (Roger) Hurley Bonnie (Tom) Zuccarini and Brett Manton and a brother; Ted Manton a sister; Marian Sherman 6 grandchildren; Mark Frye Kara Halliwell Kristen Frye Bo Manton Leno Zuccarini and Emily Zuccarini several nieces and nephews his first wife of 28 years; Louise Manton all from New Jersey and many devoted and loving extended family and friends.
A 3:oo gathering until a 5:00 memorial and reception to celebrate his life will be held on March 22 2011; Franklinville United Methodist Church 1525 Coles Mill Rd. In lieu of flowers please send contributions in his memory to Franklinville United Methodist Church.
