Albert "Al" Eugene Poirier, Jr., 76, of Flagler Beach, FL, passed away on July 24, 2024.
Al was born on January 12, 1947, in Fall River, MA, spending most of his early life in and around
Providence, RI. His parents were Albert and Eleanor (Eppinstiner) Poirier.

In 1965, Al joined the Army as Company Clerk at Fort Dix, NJ. He was later tapped to serve under the
Department of Defense as part of the Courier Service.
After discharge from the Service, Al spent most of his career working as Director of Purchasing for fast
food companies (KFC, Rustler Steak House, et al.). He returned to New England and eventually became
General Manager for The Driftwood (Shrewsbury, MA) where he met his wife, General Manager of
Pickwicks Pubs (Worcester, MA and Providence, RI) and Executive Director for the Camp Edwards Troop
Welfare Council, responsible for all the dining families on the base on Cape Cod, MA. He would finish his
career as General Manager of the Brown Faculty Club (Providence, RI), Vice President and General
Manager of The Summit Club (Memphis, TN), and General Manager of Valley Country Club (Warwick,
RI).

Al received his BA in Legal Studies in 2009, and MBA of Legal Studies in 2013, both from American Public
University. He would achieve his dream of being accepted to and attending Law School at Barry Law
School (Orlando, FL) in 2014 at the age of 67.
Al was a voracious reader, lover of political debate, history aficionado, loved to write and research, and
participated in many charity and rescue activities with his wife, Robin. He also loved good food and
company, to travel, ski, and play golf, especially with his family and friends.
Al is survived by his wife of 37 years, Robin (Hatstat) Poirier; his children: Carrie and her husband, Larry
Hall, Noel and his Jennifer (Wisor), Amy and her husband Aaron Schoeneberger; his sisters, Renee
Poirier and her husband, Mark Jeske, Jackie and her husband John Cabral, Jeanne and her husband Tony
Casiano, his brother, Gary Nelson and his wife Diane; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, several
nieces and nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers William, and
Robert.
