Alamaylu Chandrajit was born on January 12, 1939 in Guyana. She departed this life on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Advent Health Hospital in Orlando, surrounded by her loving family. She was 85 years old.

Alamaylu was the wife of Ooma Chandrajit for 62 years, and the daughter of the late Tombi and Mimi Mandray-Mootoo.

She had seven siblings: Herman, Burtie, Sydney, Rudolph, and Sibil, who are deceased. Lynette and Shiela are still alive.

She leaves to cherish her memory five loving children: Loraine and her late husband, Mustaph Wahab who have two children, Zaed and Shereen; Michael and his wife Chandi Chandrajit, who have three children, Teon, Anessa, and Melissa; Maureen and her husband Phillip Wright, who have two children, Jordan and Victoria; Roxanne and her husband Orin Nelson, who have four children, Jillion, Angela, Adel, and Marielle; Joanne and her husband, Mike O'Connor.

She was also a great-grandmother to three great-grandchildren, Liam, Calab, and Juliette.

Alamaylu was a gentle, loving, and caring mother who cared a great deal about her children. She put others before her own desires, never hesitating to give to others in a time of need.

Mom never gave up and made everything she did look easy. She was always thinking of how to make a better future for her children. She always made the time for us and taught us many great lessons in life.

She was like a mother to many around her. She also committed much of her life aring for children and seniors as a Health Care Provider.

Alamaylu was also a devoted member of the church and held a strong belief in the Lord – a belief that gave her determination and strength in this life, and will surely be granted her peace and salvation in the afterlife.
