Obituary

Vallabhabhai was born in 1934 in the village of Devrajia in Gujarat, India. Unfortunately at the age of 8, he suffered the loss of his mother, Ujiben. As he was the oldest son, he joined his father in farming after finishing primary school at the age of 12 years. He got married at the age of 18 to Radhaben. They were both married for 38 wonderful years. During this period, not only did they take care of their siblings, but also raised 7 of their own children. He had a giving and kind heart. In Devrajia, he has always helped the less fortunate people when they asked for help.  He always had good income coming in from his farming business no matter the crop or the season, a sign that he was blessed. Stress never effected him because he knew God was always with him.

1981 was the first time he came to America to unite with his rest of the family. Then, he returned to India to take care of his parents. In 1990, at the age of 56, he suffered another major loss, his wife Radhaben passed away. This was a major turning point in his life. During this time, he handed over his farming business to his son Manoj, quit all of his habits, and became fully devoted to Lord Swaminarayan. Since then he has spent the rest of his life praying to Lord Swaminarayan and donating his time to seva.

In 2010, he moved back to America to join his children. During his time in America, he continued his service to God.

On the early morning of November 21, 2019, he suffered a severe stroke and was admitted to the hospital. Every attempt was made to recoup his life but it was all in vain. On the morning of November 27, 2019, he departed for his final destination, Akshardham; to live with Lord Swaminarayan. His legacy will carry on within his 7 children, 9 grandchildren, and 5 brothers and sisters.
