Obituary

Ada I. Scarborough 96 passed away June 18 2009. A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church in Ormond Beach at a later date. Ada was born November 27 1912 in Corry Pennsylvania. In the 1950's she relocated to South Florida and worked as a weaver in the textiles industry. In the early 80's she relocated to Ormond Beach with her late husband Jon. She was a Deacon at First Christian Church and served the church in many ways one of which was visits to local nursing homes. Ida enjoyed traveling and visited many different places over the years. When Ida wasn't volunteering at the church she could be found making crafts reading or listening to gospel music. In addition she could never turn down a good card game with family and friends. Ida will be remembered most as being a "woman with spunk" while at the same time having a caring loving nurturing nature. She was always there to help those in need. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Patricia Lowrie of Holly Hill; brother Richard (Lois) Dillinger of Pennsylvania; sisters Margaret Oram of Daytona Beach and Betty (Arthur) Litchke of South Florida; six grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Jon son James Phillips brothers Stanley Robert and Lawrence and sister Marjorie.
