Obituary

Albertina Mathilda Therese Torres Woodford 1944-2023

Tina Woodford was born in Albany, New York, February 18, 1944 and was received into  the arms of her Lord on November 23, 2023. As a child, she lived in Manhattan, NY,  Framingham Center, Mass and Woodstock, NY. At age nine her family moved to Coral  Gables, Fl.

She met her Husband Mike in Miami the Winter of 1962. Friendship followed and Love  bloomed. It was a match made in heaven. Their Nuptial Mass was at Little Flower  Catholic church, a short walk from her childhood home on Madrid Street in Coral  Gables. Over the years, they lived in Florida, New Jersey and Virginia. But, no matter  where Mike's work took him, Tina's heart was always in Florida. Like a magnet, it  always drew her back. Recently, she and Mike have divided their time between their  condos in Daytona Beach Shores and Tamarac, Fl.

Tina had a burning passion for God, the Roman Catholic Church, her family, daily  prayer, the beach and boogie boarding. She loved music and played the hammer  dulcimer, old time banjo and guitar. Over the years she sang and played in multiple  church choirs. She was a world traveler, spreading love everywhere she went.

Tina is mother to three wonderful daughters: Susan Perez(Guy), Maria Spillane(Brian) and Michelle McGurn(Kevin) and seven grand children: Sofia  Perez, Michael Perez, Finn McGurn, Ronan McGurn, Ruby McGurn, Baer Spillane and  Piper Spillane. She loved each and every one of her children, grand children and sons  in law with all of her heart. To her grandkids she was lovingly known as their Ama.

She is survived by Mike, her daughters, her grandchildren, her sister Lola G Torres and  her brother August S Torres Jr.

Tina was preceded in death by her father August S Torres Sr, her mother Gladys(Glad)  Keim Torres, her sister Jonquil(Julie) Torres Dodds and her beloved son in law Guy Perez.

Tina was a member of both St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Coral Springs, Fl  and The Catholic Church of the Epiphany, Port Orange, Fl. She was a daily  communicant and served as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist for 47 years.  From 1976 until June of this year she ministered lovingly to the homebound,  hospitalized and those in nursing homes and adult facilities. Her most recent ministry  was to the residents of Heritage Waterside in Port Orange, where she taught a  Wednesday Bible Study and conducted Sunday Communion Services. All of those she  knew and served will remember her for her beautiful smile and loving ways. She will be  deeply missed by all of those who knew and loved her.

Tina's Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1401  Coral Ridge Dr, Coral Springs Fl on December 29, 2023 at 11am.

The care of Abertina T Woodford is entrusted to Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange, 1201 Dunlawton Ave, Port Orange, FL 32127.
