Dr. Aaron E. Wilkins II (US Army Colonel, Retired), 08-11-1934 to 04-30-2015. Aaron Wilkins passed away peacefully on April 30, 2015, at his residence in Palm Coast, FL under Hospice care, after being ill for several weeks.

Aaron was born in Port Arthur, TX, and was raised and educated in Houston, TX. He graduated from Jack Yates High School in 1951, and headed north to Howard University in Washington, DC. While a student at Howard University, he majored in chemistry, was an ROTC student, and joined Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. He received a B.S. degree and was commissioned a 2nd Lt. in the Army in 1955.

Aaron and Dr. Gloria Robinson were married in 1956 and began an exciting and maturing military life. They and their two sons, Aaron III and Anthony, spent his 26 years of duty living all over the world (Europe, Asia, Hawaii, and the western USA). His military career brought much recognition as a leader and project manager. Aaron rose to the rank of full Colonel. He was honored for his service in Vietnam and received the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, and other medals of recognition. Dr. Wilkins was the constant student. He received a MA from the University of Oklahoma, and a PhD from Century University (UCLA).

After retiring from the military, the Wilkins lived in Philadelphia, PA, and Fairfax, VA, where Aaron spent 13 years with NASA as an instructor.

Aaron and Gloria retired to Palm Coast, FL in 2005. Life was good. They loved to travel and play golf. They were active in his fraternity and her sorority, in their church, Palm Coast United Methodist, in the Hosts of Palm Coast, and as mentors.

Aaron is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gloria, sons Aaron III (Sandra), Anthony (Donna), and grandson Aaron James "AJ".

Memorial Services are Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Palm Coast United Methodist Church: Alpha Phi Alpha Omega Service at 10:00am and Celebration of Life Service at 11:00am. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Palm Coast United Methodist Church (Building Fund) or Florida Hospital Flagler Hospice.
